Girl group BLACKPINK recalled their trainee days on the “Carpool Karaoke” segment of “The Late Late Show with James Corden”. On April 20th (local time), BLACKPINK appeared as guests on the “Carpool Karaoke” segment of CBS’ “The Late Late Show with James Corden”.  https://youtu.be/gUmE_TRdp0s Here, it was mentioned that just two days before headlining at the 2023 Coachella festival, BLACKPINK held 2 concerts in Tokyo, Japan, as part of their BORN PINK WORLD TOUR.  When James Corden asked how many audiences BLACKPINK performed in front of in Tokyo, Rosé calculated in Korean and answered in English, "110,000 people in just two nights". Meanwhile, Lisa revealed that they came to LA, USA in just two days for James Corden, who appeared to be moved by such a statement. Then, for the “Carpool Karaoke”, BLACKPINK first chose “Pink Venom”  and sang excitedly. Here, James Corden surprised the members by smoothly delivering Lisa and Jennie's rap parts. When asked about when the group was first formed, BLACKPINK said 10 years ago, to which James Corden asked if there's some sort of group camp. Regarding this, Jennie explained that there’s a training system, and that the members were called trainees back then. Next, the members revealed that they were trainees for about 5-6 years, and mentioned that  they learned to dance, sing, as well as had language classes. According to BLACKPINK, they learned various genres in dance, such as popping and krumping, and for the latter, showing an angry face is the point. Afterwards, each member demonstrated their “krumping face”, while James Corden made everyone laugh by showing his version.  After choosing “DDU-DU DDU-DU”, James Corden continued to inquire about BLACKPINK’s trainee lives. At this, Rosé explained they start at 9 to 10 AM, and practice all through until 2 AM, even on weekends. They would also get a Sunday off every two weeks. Rosé then mentioned that she came to Korea at the age of 16, while in the case of Lisa, she was 14. Lisa then confessed that she was a baby back then, and didn’t even speak Korean.  In addition, Rosé shared that all her friends asked where she was going, and couldn’t understand even after she explained. In the end, “Just wait and see, I will show you,” was the 16-year-old Rosé’s answer at the time.  When asked if they experienced homesickness while living as trainees in Korea, Jennie answered, “It think it’s so intense, where we kind of forget that we’re missing some part of our lives, because there’s different tests that we do and different videos that we have to shoot, and it just keeps coming every day, every week.” “We weren't really looking back to our homes or anything, we're just like let's survive this”, she also added.  Finally, BLACKPINK was asked if there were any groups that they looked to for inspiration, and mentioned TLC. “Loved TLC's music”, the girl group said, adding, “They had vocals, they had raps, and also had a bit of hip-hop”.  Meanwhile, Blackpink will continue their world tour in Mexico after finishing their schedule at Coachella.
