Super Junior’s Sungmin Welcomes Son with Wife Kim Sa-eun After 10 Years of Marriage

On the 14th, SM Entertainment, Sungmin’s agency, announced to Sports Chosun that “Sungmin became a father on the 13th.” They also shared Sungmin’s thoughts on the birth: “He is very happy and delighted, yet he feels a sense of responsibility as a father. He thanks everyone who has congratulated him.”








Sungmin also posted a photo of his son on his account, writing, “Hello everyone, this is Popo. Thanks to your support and prayers for a smooth delivery, both mother and baby are healthy. I am grateful. I will raise him with love and care. Our Popo smiled at me as soon as he was born. I love you.”















Married in 2014, Sungmin and Kim Sa-eun became parents on the 13th, marking their tenth wedding anniversary. Sungmin, who announced in July that they were expecting a precious baby, had shared his excitement about becoming a father during an appearance on MBC Standard FM’s Son Tae-jin’s Trot Radio on the 12th, saying, “Until today, I was Sungmin, but from tomorrow, I will be Father Sungmin. My son will be born tomorrow.”








Born in 1986, Sungmin debuted with Super Junior in 2005 and has received great love from global fans. However, since 2014, he has been on indefinite hiatus from group activities, with many viewing it as a de facto departure. He transitioned to a solo career in 2019 and has been active as a trot singer since last year.








Kim Sa-eun, born in 1985 and a year older than Sungmin, was active as a vocalist in the project group Banana Girl’s fourth album in 2008. After marrying Sungmin, she gained attention by appearing on shows like Taste of Wife and Miss Trot 2.
